Steady Progress Despite Tough Splits Priya Saravanan participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, culminating with an overall time of 1:29:22 and an average pace of 14:24 min/mile over the 6.2-mile course. Starting strong, she completed the first mile with a pace of 13:34 min/mile but experienced a gradual slowdown across subsequent miles. Her pace decreased from 14:19 min/mile in the second mile to 14:52 min/mile by the fourth mile. However, Priya was consistent in her placement throughout, consistently remaining within the middle tier of division F40-44. Despite a dip in speed, Priya managed to slightly improve her position relative to others as the race went on, indicating solid endurance. For overall and gender placement, maintaining or slightly improving position shows competitive spirit and stamina. Focusing on maintaining a consistent pace throughout future events could help enhance both her timing and standings. Emphasis on pacing strategies during practice may yield beneficial results in future races.
