Consistent Top Division Performance Austin Castro showcased a noteworthy performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Throughout the race, Austin maintained a steady pace, achieving an overall time of 41:21 for the 10K distance, which results in an average pace of 6:40 min/mile. Impressively, he secured the 3rd place in his division, M20-24, among a field of 2010 participants. Analyzing the splits, Austin demonstrated a strong start with the first mile at a 6:42 pace. There was a noticeable improvement in the second and third miles, with split times of 6:36 and 6:35, respectively. Remaining consistent, he held a similar pace in miles four to six, ranging around 6:40 per mile. While his placement shifted slightly throughout the race, his division ranking remained solid. Continuing to focus on maintaining consistent splits in future races could enhance his overall performance.
