Consistent Performance with Strong First Half Mary Katherine maintained a consistent pace throughout the UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, ultimately finishing in a time of 2:00:03, with an average pace of 9:09 min/mile. Her performance was marked by an impressive consistency, especially in the first 5 miles where her pace hovered consistently around the 9:00 min/mile mark. She saw her best pace in mile 4 with an 8:52 split. Her placement within her division, F25-29, began strongly at 59th place in the first mile. The latter portion of the race saw a slight decrease in pace. From mile 8, the splits presented a gradual slowdown, culminating with a 9:41 split in mile 11. Despite this, Mary Katherine finished strong, almost returning to her earlier pace with a 9:17 split in the final mile, which is commendable. For future races, maintaining the quick early pace through strategic pacing in the middle miles could lead to even better overall times.
