Paced Start, Gradual Slowdown Marc Calo participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, finishing with a time of 3:03:43. His average pace was 14:01 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. The race started strongly, with an initial mile at a 10:15 min/mile pace. Notably, Marc began experiencing a gradual decline in pace, with notable slowing in splits 9 and 12, timing 16:04 and 16:05 min/mile, respectively. He maintained a consistent effort in the middle miles, with splits around the 13-minute range. Even though his place overall was 3812 out of 4907, its commendable that he managed to still finish strong with a final split of 14:59 min/mile, showing his capacity to hold a relatively steady pace overall. To improve, increasing pace consistency could be beneficial, particularly in the latter half, where his pace slowed markedly. Continued training could help maintain pace under fatigue.
