Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Evelyn Santillan from New Caney, TX, participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Evelyn completed the 13.1-mile race with a finish time of 2:20:09, averaging a pace of 10:41 min/mile. Her race position placed her in the top 17% of her gender with a 834th finish out of 4,907 participants overall. She demonstrated consistent pacing, with her best split of 9:45 min/mile during mile 4 and notable improvement in the final miles, especially mile 13 where she clocked a remarkable 9:57. During the race, Evelyn maintained her position and improved through the middle sections. Though there was a significant drop in pace on mile 3, it was commendable how she regained consistency afterward. Evelyn could benefit from working on maintaining an even pace across all splits to avoid the variability seen in early miles. Joining her team, Houston sMiles, she displayed a commendable finish, a testament to her commitment and training.
