Consistent Improvement Boosts Performance Sergio Palacios demonstrated solid performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. His overall time was 2:18:31, maintaining an average pace of 10:34 min/mile across the 13.1-mile course. Notably, his early splits were slower, starting with a pace of 10:57 min/mile in the first mile. However, as the race progressed, he consistently improved, achieving his fastest mile pace of 10:06 min/mile by the 7th mile. In terms of placement, Sergio finished 2,454th overall, 1,658th among males, and 91st in his M50-54 age division out of 4,907 total participants. His performance within his age group remained competitive, consistently maintaining a position in the low 90s. A significant observation is mile 13, where his pace slowed to 11:06 min/mile. In the future, focusing on maintaining speed in the later stages could enhance his overall race strategy. His representation of "The Greater Run Club" showed steady improvement throughout the race.
