Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Albert Jr. Yap demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. He maintained an impressive average pace of 8:40 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. Notably, Albert Jr. displayed a subtle negative split, improving his pace from an initial 8:57 min/mile to a consistent pace around 8:40 min/mile from mile 6 onwards. Albert Jr.'s overall placement saw a steady improvement, moving from 1140th in the first mile to 1007th by the end of the race. He also climbed from 100th to 88th within his division, M40-44, by the finish line. Throughout the race, Albert Jr. impressively adjusted his pace, notably speeding up significantly at mile 5 with an 8:30 min/mile split.
