Stable Performance with Consistent Mid-Race Pacing Jalil Cantarero participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon clocking in at 2:06:29, with a consistent pace of 9:39 min/mile over 13.1 miles. His placement was 1824th overall out of 4907 participants, while in his division (M30-34), he finished in 280th place. Despite a slight increase in elapsed time compared to his previous race, his pacing strategy ensured stable performance, especially notable from mile 4 to 6 where he maintained sub-9:15 paces. Comparison to his previous half marathon in 2024 shows a slight slowdown as he finished then at 2:03:52. The third mile was a highlight, tight at 8:48 min/mile, but later splits showed some slowing. However, strategic pacing helped Jalil hold a consistent overall time. Going forward, monitoring speed in the latter stages could be an area to focus on for improving performance.
