Strong Finish with Improved Pace Yachun Hou from The Woodlands, TX, showcased a notable performance improvement at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Her completion time was 1:16:40 over the 6.2 miles, with a final pace of 12:21 min/mile. She successfully closed segments with consistent pacing, particularly in the latter miles, repeating a split time of 11:57 twice. This effort placed her 1049th overall out of 2010 participants and 68th within her division. Comparing to her previous years performance, where she finished in 1:21:44 with a 13:11 min/mile pace, Yachun demonstrated a significant improvement. Her final result showed enhanced pacing strategies, reducing her race time by over 5 minutes and moving up considerably in the gender and division standings.
