Consistent Pacing and Steady Effort In the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, Erma Tijerina delivered a steady performance with an overall time of 2:01:27, translating to an average pace of 9:16 min/mile. Throughout the race, Erma's pacing remained consistent, with her best split at mile 5 (8:56 min/mile) and a slight increase in her splits after mile 8. She demonstrated resilience by maintaining a relatively even pace throughout the race in her age division, consistently fluctuating from 40th to 55th place. While maintaining a steady pace overall, Erma showed great dedication as she finished 1525th out of 4907 participants and 397th among female runners. Comparing her to last years performance where her pacing was 9:07 min/mile, a gradual slowing in her pace was noted, which can be a focus area for future races.
