Solid Progression and a Strong Finish Steve maintained a consistent pace during the Houston Half Marathon, completing the race in 2:17:41 with an average pace of 10:30 min/mile. Notably, Steve made impressive progress in the second half, particularly between miles 9 and 13, where his split paces consistently improved from 9:51 to 9:29 min/mile. This indicates not only endurance but also effective pacing as he pushed forward during the final stretch. In this performance, Steve showed remarkable improvement in his positioning, moving up from being 2945th overall at mile 3 to finishing 2403rd out of 4907 participants. Within his division (M50-54), he started at place 82 and finished 88, showing efforts in holding his rank amidst a competitive field. A focus area could be working on maintaining an earlier pace closer to the later miles' performance.
