Steady Start but Increased Fatigue in Later Miles Eidyn Gutierrez maintained a consistent pace through the early miles of the UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting off with splits of 8:20 and 8:09 per mile for the first two miles, these were his fastest segments. The pace was consistently around 8:20 min/mile until the 4th mile, after which there was a gradual slowdown. The pace trend shifted notably after halfway, with splits around 9:00 min/mile post 6 miles, peaking at 10:32 min/mile between miles 12 and 13. Improvements could be made by focusing on endurance training to sustain the pace in the latter half. Despite the deceleration, his performance remained commendable, concluding with an overall time of 1:58:07. Eidyn finished 111th in his division and belongs to the team "Timeless Runners." Engaging in consistent endurance building can aid in closing the gap between his current and potential race performance.
