Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Karina Yonekawa-Blest demonstrated a balanced and steady performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. With an overall pace of 10:23 minutes per mile, she completed the 13.1-mile race in 2:16:07. Throughout the race, Karina maintained a consistent pace, with her split times ranging from a steady 10:03 to 10:53 minutes per mile. Notably, her quickest split time occurred between miles 11 and 12 at 10:03 min/mile, which contributed to her strong finish and illustrates her endurance. Karina placed 741st in the female category and 69th in her age division (F45-49) out of a total of 4907 participants. Her ability to maintain placement despite fluctuations in pace shows favorable competition skills. Continuing to improve pacing strategies, particularly in the latter miles where she was slightly slower, may help in further enhancing her overall performance. Her representation of the Houston Striders was commendable in a field of almost 5000 participants.
