Strong Finish with Consistent Gain Brik Hazel clocked in a commendable performance at the 2025 Vacation Races | Joshua Tree Half Marathon. Starting off with an 8:08 min/mile pace, Brik progressively improved, bringing his pace down consistently over the course. Notably, between miles 5 and 6, he gained substantial momentum dropping his pace to a brisk 7:06 min/mile, a key highlight of his run. Brik closed the race with a final time of 1:45:04, covering the 13.1-mile distance with an impressive average pace of 8:01 min/mile, placing him 23rd overall out of 1330 participants. Brik's occupation of the 4th spot in the M20-24 division is supported by consistent pacing throughout. Early miles saw slight variances in placement, but from mile 5 onward, his positioning stabilized, peaking impressively in the 3rd position of his division at mile 9. Continued work on early pacing strategies might enhance his overall performance in future races.
