Date: October 10th to 11th, 2026 Participant: Cecilia Lopez #2849 Race: 2026 Long Beach Half Marathon

A Steady Coastal 13.1, Capped by a Kick to Marina Green The grey marine light held, the threatened rain and wind never arrived, and the harbour air turned out to be nearly perfect for running. Cecilia Lopez of La Habra went out crisp and controlled, clicking off an 11:06 opening mile and holding that rhythm mile after mile roughly 11:13, 11:11, then through six miles still averaging about 11:22 per mile along the water. She crossed at Marina Green in 2:43:22, an overall pace of 12:28 per mile, one of 16,531 finishers in a half marathon that was part of a sold-out weekend of more than 28,000 runners. The best detail is the last one: that final stretch to the line came at roughly 11:02 per mile, her quickest running of the morning. La Raza Trakas had every reason to cheer. Long Beach is proud to have hosted it.
