Date: October 10th to 11th, 2026 Participant: Jason Madamba #6943 Race: 2026 Long Beach Half Marathon

A hometown half, finished strong on the Marina Green Grey marine light, salt in the air, and a threat of rain and wind that never arrived nearly perfect running weather for Jason Madamba, one of 16,531 runners on the half marathon course. He crossed in 3:16:22, averaging 14:59 per mile, and he did it in his own city, along Shoreline Drive, past the Queen Mary, out through Belmont Shore and home to the harbour. He opened quick, a 13:47 first mile, then settled in. The sharpest running came deep in the race: back-to-back splits of roughly 12:56 around miles eight and nine, the fastest stretch of his morning. And the finish was no formality that last tenth clipped along at about 13:15 per mile pace, a genuine kick down to Marina Green. Long Beach is proud of this one, and of the RBA Run Club singlet that carried him through.
