Date: October 10th to 11th, 2026 Participant: Ryan Kim #7899 Race: 2026 Long Beach Half Marathon

A 10:00 opening mile, a harbour-side morning, and a closing kick to Marina Green Ryan Kim rolled out along Shoreline Drive and clicked off the first mile in exactly 10:00, then backed it up with a 10:25 second mile the kind of start the flat coastal stretch past the Queen Mary was made for. Through the middle miles he kept the rhythm honest, hitting 10 miles in about 2:01:47, with the overcast sky and the threatened wind and rain never arriving to spoil what turned out to be nearly perfect running weather. He crossed in 2:45:27 for 13.1 miles, an average of 12:37 per mile, one of 16,531 finishers in a sold-out half marathon field. Best of all was the finish: that last tenth covered at roughly 9:38 pace, faster than any full mile of the day, carrying him home to Marina Green. Salt air, a proud city, and the YDC Run Crew singlet coming through strong.
