Date: October 10th to 11th, 2026 Participant: Andrew Medina #8586 Race: 2026 Long Beach Half Marathon

A Steady Harbour-Side Half, Finished With a Kick Under grey marine light and salt air that never did turn to rain, Andrew Medina of Riverside crossed the line at Marina Green in 2:55:15 for 13.1 miles, averaging 13:22 per mile among 16,531 half marathon finishers. It turned out to be nearly perfect running weather, and he used it: out along Shoreline Drive he clicked off an opening mile of 12:57, then settled in and got quicker, with mile 2 near 12:38 and mile 3 at 12:37. The sharpest running came through the middle. Mile 5 landed around 12:18 and mile 6 at 12:12, his fastest of the day, with mile 9 back near 12:41. Best of all was the last tenth, covered in 1:13 at roughly 12:10 per mile pace, the quickest running of the whole morning. Long Beach is proud to have shared its coast with him.
