Date: October 10th to 11th, 2026 Participant: Carlos Plancarte #28362 Race: 2026 Long Beach Marathon

Twenty-six miles of steady coastal rhythm, banked in 4:41:15 Grey marine light, salt in the air, the threatened rain and wind never showing up and Carlos Plancarte made the most of nearly perfect running weather. He opened in 9:58 for the first mile and then simply locked in: mile after mile along Shoreline Drive and out toward Belmont Shore in the 9:30s and 10-flats, crossing 13 miles right around 2:09:57, an average of about 9:59 per mile. The quickest of the bunch came late in that stretch, roughly 9:23 near mile 16. The finish at Marina Green read 4:41:15, a 10:44 overall pace for the full 26.2, earned among 7,174 marathon finishers on a sold-out weekend of more than 28,000 runners. Run Culture Run Club had a good day on the waterfront. Long Beach is proud to have hosted it, and we'll be here waiting for the next one.
