Consistent Start, Slackening Finish Jonathan Ortiz began his 7K race strongly with a consistent pace through the first two miles, clocking 9:21 for both. His early positioning was strong, holding 24th place in his age division (M30-34) for these initial splits. His overall position was also consistent at 161. However, slight changes in his pacing began to emerge towards the third mile as his pace slowed to 9:50 per mile, which contributed to him falling back to the 36th position in his division. Over the entire 4.35 miles, Jonathan managed an overall pace of 9:49 per mile and finished with a final time of 42:45. Notably, his ranking dropped to 62nd in his division by the race's end. There's potential to enhance performance through more steady pacing in later miles, particularly from mile three onwards where there was a noticeable shift in pace and race position. This would provide a more evenly distributed effort throughout.
