Consistent Start with Strategic Adjustments Jackson Cabral maintained an effective pace of 10:12 min/mile through the first three miles before slightly adjusting to 10:17 min/mile by mile 5. His midway adjustments saw a split improvement in the 6th mile to 10:02 min/mile, which was his fastest split. Notably, his strategic adjustments allowed him to gain positions, moving from 5610th overall to 4860th by the 6th mile. This improvement showcases adaptability and strength in mid-race. However, there was a noticeable deceleration beginning at the 7th mile with a pace shift to 11:06 min/mile. The later stages saw a challenging 10th mile at 14:06 min/mile. Despite this, Jackson completed his half marathon with an overall time of 2:20:20, maintaining a pace of 10:42 min/mile. Finishing in 6563rd position overall and 777th in the M20-24 division, consistency in early pacing and mid-race adaptability were highlights of his performance. Working on sustaining later-mile pace could benefit future races.
