Consistent Early Splits Lead to a Steady Finish Lauren maintained a consistent pace through the initial 8 miles, averaging around 10:45 min/mile. Her detailed split times reflect a strong start, with the first six miles showing only minor variations in pace, contributing to an admirable 3024th place in her gender category by the midpoint. These consistent efforts also saw her rise in division placement to 985 before mile 10. However, from mile 9 onwards, a notable shift occurred, with pace slowing to 11:05 min/mile, and further to 12:01 min/mile in the final miles. This adjustment affected her overall placement, settling at 7231 out of 11586 participants, and 1140th in her F20-24 division by the race's completion. Enhancing pacing strategy in the later stages could positively influence future results. Despite the deceleration, finishing a half marathon at an average pace of 11:09 min/mile marks a valuable performance milestone.
