Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Dexter Waters maintained a steady pace in the initial phases of the 2026 Saucony Love Run Philly. He kicked off with a split pace of 7:59 min/mile in the first mile, improving his placement by maintaining a swift 7:16 min/mile in the second mile. His strongest position in the M30-34 division was during the third mile, standing at 91st place with a slight dip in pace to 7:53 min/mile. The first four miles showed a promising increase in positions, peaking at 638th overall. The mid to latter parts of the race posed more of a challenge, as evidenced by a notable slowdown around mile seven with an 8:34 min/mile pace. The ninth and tenth miles were particularly testing, registering splits of 9:15 and 10:02 min/mile, respectively. Dexter completed the half marathon in 1:50:06, averaging an 8:24 min/mile pace. For future races, focusing on consistent pacing in the latter stages might help maintain earlier momentum.
