Displaying consistency, he maintained a pace just over 9 minutes per mile for the first four miles. Notably, he achieved a nearly identical split time of 9:14 for three consecutive miles. The midpoint of the race saw a slight increase in split pace, rising to 9:47 and again to 9:52 by mile six. By mile seven, the pace shifted to a 10:38, hinting at a possible challenge during this segment. From mile eight onwards, John regained control, stabilizing his pace around 10 minutes per mile for the remainder of the race.
