Notably, Alex improved significantly from his previous year's performance, where he completed the same course in 2:13:48 with a 10:12 min/mile pace. Throughout the race, he demonstrated remarkable stamina and pacing, with splits ranging from his fastest mile at 6:52 to 12:30. Starting strong, Alex set the pace with an initial 8:58 min/mile, maintaining a strategic and consistent performance. The race showcased his ability to recover from a slower 7th mile by finishing strong, accelerating to 6:52 in the final stretch.
