Consistent Finish with a Strong Ending Kraig Kimball's performance at the 2025 Vacation Races | Mount Rushmore Half Marathon showcased a strong finish, leading to a commendable overall time of 1:51:12, averaging an 8:29 min/mile pace. Starting with an 8:34 min/mile pace in the first mile, he positioned himself at 21st overall and 4th in the M Masters division. As he approached the middle of the race, there was some fluctuation in his split paces, particularly at mile 7 with an 11:10 min/mile pace, which slightly impacted his positioning. However, the final miles displayed considerable improvement. His last mile clocked in at an impressive 6:25 min/mile, securing the 1st place in the M Masters division by the end. Kraig's ability to pace himself progressively better is noteworthy, finishing 11th overall and 7th in the male category out of 523 participants. As a coach, maintaining a steady pace earlier could further enhance overall performance in future races.
