Dynamic Pace and Strong Finish Zachary Mathews maintained a remarkable pace at the 2026 Runtastic NEBO Marathon. Initially, he showed a strong performance with a 7:21 min/mile pace at the first mile and even improved to a swift 6:45 min/mile by mile three. A significant dip occurred between the fourth and seventh miles, where his pace averaged 9:41 min/mile. However, he demonstrated resilience by recovering with consistent sub-7-minute splits from mile eight onward. Despite the mid-race challenge, Zachary displayed impressive endurance. His final elapsed time of 3:12:30 equates to a consistent average pace of 7:20 min/mile. Notably, Zachary clinched first place in his division at mile 24 and maintained a top position in the M35-39 category, securing 2nd place in the end. His overall standing was impressive, finishing 17th among a total of 308 participants. Zacharys adaptive strategy in the latter half of the race was critical in his strong finish.
