Consistent Pace Leads to Division Win for Sam Sam Capron maintained a strong and consistent pace throughout the 2026 Runtastic NEBO Marathon, finishing with an impressive time of 2:50:38. Averaging a pace of 6:30 min/mile over the 26.2-mile course, Sams early mile splits ranged from 6:15 to 6:30 min/mile. Of note, splits were between 6:01 and 6:06 min/mile between miles 15 and 21, showcasing impressive speed during this segment. He held his position well, consistently placing 4th overall before moving into 3rd across multiple exchanges, ultimately finishing 5th overall out of 308 participants. Although finishing 5th overall, Sam excelled in his age division, securing 1st place in the M20-24 category. The last few miles saw increased split times reaching 7:50 and 7:08, slightly impacting his final position. Maintaining speed towards the race's end may offer further opportunities for overall improvement. Nevertheless, his strong finish furthers his prowess in the division!
