Consistent Improvement and Great Progress Ed Harrison maintained a commendable pace throughout the 2026 Ogden Marathon, completing the race in 2:47:29 with an average pace of 6:23 min/mile. Beginning strong with a first-mile pace of 6:07, he continued to display consistency in pacing, only experiencing a slight deceleration in the latter part of the race. Notably, Ed showed exemplary improvement from his previous participation in the 2025 Ogden Marathon, cutting over 6 minutes off his race time and ascending in overall ranks from 35th to 19th. His performance indicated a strong placement within his division, finishing 5th in the M30-34 category. A standout achievement was his effective pacing strategy during miles 11-16, maintaining a swift 6:12-6:14 min/mile. As a coach, it might be beneficial for Ed to focus on gradually maintaining his impressive early race speeds through to the final stages to help minimize slowdown in the last few miles.
