Impressive Finish with Personal Best Joshua Nicolaides, 21, of Morgan, Utah, competed in the 2026 Ogden Marathon Half Marathon, covering the 13.1-mile distance with a final time of 1:18:45 and an average pace of 6:00 min/mile. Joshua placed 7th overall out of 3,332 participants, secured 7th place in the male category, and clinched 1st in his division (M19-24). This marks a significant improvement from the previous years race, where he finished 23rd overall with a time of 1:22:25. Starting strong with a 6:13 first mile, Joshua picked up his pace mid-race, recording a swift 5:52 at mile 5 and consistently stayed under 6:10 splits. A standout performance was the 10th mile, his fastest at 5:35, demonstrating his ability to finish strong. Maintaining consistent speed in the final miles helped him significantly improve upon his previous performance. A focused training plan to integrate more varied pacing could offer additional speed gains, building upon the progress hes made.
