Consistent Early Pace, Challenging Finish Jordan Simmons started strong in the 8.2 Mile race at the 2026 Ogden Marathon. His early splits were consistent, maintaining a solid pace under 7:20 min/mile through the first five miles. At the 5-mile mark, his elapsed time was 36:02, securing first place in his division. This consistency placed him in the top 10 overall during the initial half of the race. Unfortunately, the pacing in the last three miles decreased to above 8:30 min/mile with a final mile split of 9:31. This resulted in an overall finish time of 1:03:58, with a pace of 7:50 min/mile. Despite a slower second half, he concluded as the third in the M19-24 division. A more even pacing strategy in future races could help maintain an impressive effort throughout and capitalize on the strong beginnings he consistently demonstrates.
