Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Chris Campbell ran the 2026 Runtastic Marathon showcasing a strong start with exceptional pacing. He maintained a consistent pace of 6:28-6:30 min/mile for the first four miles, placing 6th overall and 2nd in his M30-34 division. He hit his fastest pace at mile 1 with 6:28 min/mile and was briefly in 4th place for his division at mile 5. His initial performance was solid, demonstrating endurance and speed. However, the latter part of the marathon presented challenges. From mile 20, his pace dropped, leading to a significant slowdown to 8:43 min/mile, culminating in a final pace of 7:53 min/mile. Despite the drop, Chris finished in a respectable 3rd place in his division. Focusing on pacing strategies for the later miles could improve his endurance further and sustain his strong start.
