Consistent Early Splits, Strong Finish Hunter Draney maintained a consistently strong pace throughout the marathon, clocking early splits of around 6:06 min/mile for the first two miles. Notably, Hunter demonstrated a remarkable ability to accelerate during the third and fourth miles, achieving split paces of 5:54 min/mile and 5:52 min/mile respectively. This early strength allowed Hunter to maintain a solid position, staying within the top three male competitors in the overall division for a substantial portion of the race. While some slight slowing was noted in the later miles, with paces moving to the low 6-minute range and peaking in the high 7-minute range towards the end, Hunter still achieved a commendable finish time of 2:54:28. This performance secured a third-place finish in their division, male overall category, out of 193 participants. Focusing on maintaining those early paces throughout would likely yield even better results in future races.
