Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Lance Welch #1554 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick opening kilometre set up a solid sub-27 5K Lance completed the 5K in 26:52, averaging 5:22/km. He placed 1,725th of 5,624 overall, 1,077th among men, and 152nd in the mens 3640 division. His fastest kilometre was the first in 4:52, and he reached 2K in 10:00. The pacing trend showed a strong start, with kilometres 24 at 5:09, 5:39 and 5:46, before a small lift to 5:28 in the final kilometre. That finish was a good response after the slower middle section. On a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, the main opportunity is to hold closer to early pace through kilometres 3 and 4; doing that would make this profile more even and could trim meaningful time.
