Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Yousaf Faiz #1616 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong negative split with a fast final 3km Yousaf completed the 5K in 26:35, averaging 5:19/km, and finished 1,648th of 5,624. He placed 1,036th among men and 291st in the male 2630 category. Representing South Asian Run Club, he ran this closed-road Canary Wharf evening race with a clear build through the field. His opening 2km were steady at 5:47/km and 5:48/km, then he picked up well over the final 3km with splits of 4:55/km, 5:17/km, and 4:50/km. That moved him from 2,300th at 1km to 1,648th at the finish, a gain of 652 places. The fastest kilometre came at the end, which suggests he paced this well; next time, bringing that mid-race surge slightly earlier could trim more time.
