Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Humza Ahmed #1022 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick Opening Kilometres Set Up a Solid 5K Humza Ahmed completed the 5K in 33:08, averaging 6:37/km, and finished 3,038th of 5,624. He was 1,617th male and 443rd in the mens 2630 division. Representing South Asian Run Club at the Canary Wharf evening race, he covered the full 5.0 km with his quickest running in the first 2 km. He opened with 5:49 and 5:52, reaching 2 km in 11:40 at 5:50/km and moving up to 2,199th overall at that point. The second half was slower: 7:10, 7:07 and 7:12 per km, with the final 3 km averaging about 7:10/km. That early pace shows good speed; the main focus for improvement is holding closer to it deeper into the race to reduce the drop-off after 2 km.
