Fast opening 2K, strong final kilometre finish Aabia completed the 5K in 40:07, averaging 8:01/km, and finished 497th in the female 2630 division. Her best section came early: 1K in 5:44, followed by 2K reached in 11:44 at 5:52/km average. She closed well too, with her final kilometre in 6:32, a clear improvement on the middle part of the race. The key trend was pacing variation through the centre of the run. After 2K, kilometres 3 and 4 were 10:50 and 11:03, before a strong rebound over the last 1K. That finishing lift is a good sign. As a coachs note, building steadier pacing after the opening 2K could help her turn that strong start and finish into a quicker overall 5K at an event known for its fast evening city route.
