Fast Finish Lifted a Steady 5K Jan Frederik ran 5.00 km in 21:11, averaging 4:14/km. He finished 478th of 5,624, placing him in roughly the top 8.5% overall. In the male field he was 285th, and 93rd in the Male 2630 category. Thats a strong result in a large evening 5K field through Canary Wharf. His pacing was controlled early: 4:13 for the first kilometre and 4:15 for the second, before easing to 4:22 and 4:27 through kilometres 3 and 4. The standout stat was the final kilometre in 3:57, the quickest of the race by 25 seconds versus kilometre 4. He also gained 48 overall places from 4 km to the finish. As a coachs note, holding kilometre 34 a little closer to early pace could bring this down further.
