Quick Opening Kilometre Set Up a Solid 5K Finish Jacob ran 5.00 km in 28:32, averaging 5:42/km. In a field of 5,624, he finished 2,134th overall, 1,287th among men, and 359th in the mens 2630 category. His fastest kilometre was the first in 5:03, and he reached 2 km in 10:23 at 5:11/km. From there, his pace moved to 6:07, 6:08, and 5:55 for the final three kilometres. That late improvement in the last kilometre was a positive sign after the middle section. As a coachs note, a slightly more even effort after the strong start could help him hold closer to his early pace across the full distance. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening 5K through Canary Wharf suited a fast opening, and he handled the opening kilometre well.
