He finished 2,580th of 5,624 overall, placing him in the top half of the field, and 404th in the male 2630 category. His quickest kilometre was the first in 5:49, and he reached 2 km in 11:57. From there, his pacing stayed fairly controlled: 6:08, 6:17, 6:09, and 6:15 per km. He gained places through 4 km before slipping back slightly late on. That pattern suggests a strong start and a generally steady middle section. As a coachs note, aiming for a slightly more even effort after the opening kilometre could help him hold position deeper into the race. Running for Canary Wharf Run Club, he also raced in an event known for its fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf.
