Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Akshay Soni #189 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Strong Top-5% Result Akshay covered 5.00 km in 19:31, averaging 3:54/km at Run The Wharf. He finished 260th of 5,624 runners, placing him in the top 4.6% overall, and 35th in the Male 3135 division. Representing Canary Wharf Run Club, he also closed well in an event known for its fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. His pacing was steady across the race: 3:51, 3:54, 4:00, 4:03, then a quickest final kilometre of 3:45. That last kilometre gained 18 overall places from 4 km to the finish, a strong sign of control and finishing speed. The middle kilometres drifted slightly, so the main coaching takeaway is to hold closer to opening pace through kilometres 3 and 4; doing that would make this kind of finish even more effective.
