Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Olmo Velayos Hernando #5003 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast finish drives a top-30 overall result He covered 5.00 km in 15:39, averaging 3:08/km. That placed him 28th overall out of 5,624, 26th in the male elite field, and 12th in the male elite 2630 division. In a large evening 5K built for quick running through Canary Wharf, those are strong numbers. His pacing was very controlled through 4 km: 3:10, 3:10, 3:11, 3:13. The standout stat was the final kilometre in 2:58, the quickest of the race, which moved him from 33rd overall at 4 km to 28th at the finish. That closing speed shows excellent reserve late on. As a coaching note, if he can bring the 4th kilometre closer to the first three, there may be a little more available across the full 5K.
