Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Parag Patel #4344 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Closing 5K with a Strong Final Kilometer Parag covered 5.00 km in 33:02, averaging 6:36/km. He finished 3024th of 5624, placing 1613th among men and 441st in the male 2630 division. His race included a notable late push: after opening kilometers of 6:49 and 6:36, he ran 7:01 and 6:50 before closing in a race-best 5:47 for the final kilometer. That finishing speed stands out most, cutting nearly 1:15/km from the fourth to fifth kilometer and gaining 46 overall places late. The second kilometer was also efficient at 6:36. As a coaching note, there is good evidence of unused pace here; a steadier middle section closer to his second-kilometer rhythm could help bring the overall time down at future evening 5Ks like this fast Canary Wharf event.
