Strong Finish and Top-50 Mens Result Andrew ran 5.00 km in 18:22, averaging 3:40/km. He placed 139th of 5,624 overall, 44th among men, and 12th in the mens 2630 division. In a large field, that put him well inside the top 3% overall. At Run The Wharf, a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, he backed that up with a steady position gain across the race. His pacing was controlled after a quick opening kilometre of 3:34. The middle 3 km stayed consistent at 3:51, 3:48, and 3:43, then he closed fastest with a 3:29 final kilometre. He improved from 179th at 1 km to 139th at the finish, gaining 40 places overall. That finishing speed stands out. For an even stronger result next time, aim to bring kilometres 2 and 3 a little closer to the opening and closing pace.
