Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alice Mc Donnell #2676 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish with fastest closing kilometre Alice covered 5.00 km in 30:36, averaging 6:07/km at Run The Wharf in Canary Wharf. She finished 204th in the female 3135 division and improved her female placing from 1,107 at 1 km to 932 at the finish. Among 5,624 runners, that late-race gain stands out. Her pacing showed a good response after the opening kilometre: 6:20, 5:53, 6:36, 6:05, then a fastest final kilometre in 5:44. That closing split was 36 seconds quicker than her first kilometre and helped bring her average pace down steadily after 3 km. As a coachs note, smoothing out the third kilometre could unlock a quicker overall time, because the finish suggests she had strong speed left.
