Strong Finish Lifted the Final Result Caesar ran 5.00 km in 26:40, averaging 5:20/km. He finished 1,675th of 5,624 overall, placing in the top 30% of the field, and was 189th in the male 1825 division. His first kilometre was his quickest early at 5:06, then his pace eased through 24 km with splits of 5:29, 5:35 and 5:40. The key stat was the close: his final kilometre was 4:52, the fastest of the race and 48 seconds quicker than km 4. That late acceleration moved him from 1,740th at 4 km to 1,675th at the finish. In an evening 5K built for speed through Canary Wharf, that finishing strength stands out. For future races, aiming to hold km 24 a little closer to the opening pace could bring down the overall time further.
