Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Taras Starosselets #836 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish and excellent pacing for a top age-group result Taras ran 5.00 km in 22:37, averaging 4:31/km. He placed 18th in the M46-50 division and finished ahead of most of the field, placing 739th of 5,624 overall. His pacing was notably steady through 4 km: 4:33, 4:35, 4:35, and 4:34 per km, showing strong control on a fast evening 5K course through Canary Wharf. The standout stat was the final kilometre in 4:21/km, his quickest of the race and 13 seconds faster than overall pace. That late acceleration moved him from 20th to 18th in his age group and from 750th to 739th overall. From a coaching view, this was a well-executed effort; if he wants to improve further, bringing a little of that last-kilometre urgency into the middle section could trim more time.
