Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ilijah Gibbs #426 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Negative Split and Sub-4:05/km Finish He covered 5.00 km in 20:16, averaging 4:03/km. Out of 5,624 finishers, he placed 360th overall, 201st male, and 66th in the M26-30 division. That puts him in roughly the top 6.4% overall. Running in Londons evening Canary Wharf 5K, he built his race well after opening at 4:01 for the first kilometre. His middle 3 km went 4:09, 4:11, and then a sharp move to 3:57, before closing with 3:59. He improved from 439th at 1 km to 360th at the finish, gaining 79 places overall. The key stat is the late-race strength: his 4th kilometre was his fastest, and his final 2 km averaged 3:58/km. For the next race, a slightly steadier 2nd and 3rd kilometre could support an even faster overall time.
