Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Burkhard Kuebel-Sorger #1949 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish and Top-20 Age-Group Result He ran 5.00 km in 24:58, averaging 4:59/km. Among 5,624 finishers, he placed 16th in the Male 55+ division, a notable result, while finishing 1,280th overall. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, he delivered a steady performance with very little variation after the opening kilometre. After a 4:56 first kilometre, his next three kilometres were tightly controlled at 5:06, 5:03 and 5:01, before he closed with his quickest split of the race at 4:53/km. He improved from 17th to 16th in his division by 2 km and held that position to the line. The key strength here was consistency across the middle of the race and a decisive final kilometre; keeping that sharper closing pace in play a little earlier could bring the overall time down further.
