Strong negative split with a fast finish Adam ran 5.00 km in 21:29, averaging 4:17/km. He placed 11th in the M5155 division out of a field of 5,624. His pacing improved each kilometre: 4:28, 4:22, 4:18, 4:16, then a quickest final kilometre of 4:07. That moved him from 13th to 11th in his division and up to 526th overall. This was a well-controlled effort with a clear negative split across the full race. The final 2 km in 8:23 averaged about 4:12/km, notably quicker than the opening 2 km at 8:50. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, finishing strongest was a good sign. For future races, a slightly quicker first kilometre could help unlock a lower overall time while keeping that strong close.
